A CD or record sleeve signed personally by Rod Stewart always looks great in a record collection or framed on the wall. Many of us already own such treasures – or others like them – and guard them like the apple of our eye.
But for those still on the hunt for such a gem, a new opportunity has now arisen.
Sir Rod has signed a number of items for charity, which are now up for auction until 31 July.
As part of a charity match organised by Phil Morton for the ‘Vagabond Old Boys’ – the charity football team founded by Sir Rod in 1996 – and which played a match yesterday, Sunday, on Rod’s own football pitch in aid of the late Stewart brothers, Don and Bobby, Sir Rod signed a selection of items for the auction, which was organised once again – and for the third time – by Jessica Heffernan in aid of the British Heart Foundation.
The items, which are available for bidding from now until 31 July at 11.00 pm (CEST), are:
a signed cover including the single “If You Loving You Is Wrong (I Don’t Want To Be Right)/‘Last Summer’”
a plain paper cover including the single “Oh No Not My Baby”/“Jodie”
a signed BHF T-shirt, size L
a signed BHF T-shirt, size XL
As they do every year, Jessica Heffernan, Phil Morton and their team have put their heart and soul into this campaign and are once again able to present some real treasures to all fans and supporters. “This is our third year running this campaign, and we’d like to thank Rod very much for his support.”
The singer has had a soft spot for the vulnerable for many years. Stewart has been an ambassador for King Charles III’s King’s Foundation for many years, is involved in initiatives such as the BBC’s ‘Children in Need’ charity campaign, and has already sent aid convoys to Ukraine as well as renting a house for a Ukrainian refugee family of seven. Commenting on the auction in aid of the British Heart Foundation, he announced: “A fantastic initiative – I’ll be doubling the total amount raised at the end.” The singer has done the same in previous years.
To bid on some of the items on offer, please send a message with your bid via WhatsApp to +44 7932 695 892. There is a minimum bid of £100 for each jersey, and £50 for each vinyl single.
The auction ends on 31 July at 11.00 pm (CEST), 10.00 pm UK time. Postage costs are to be paid by the winning bidder.
