The Final Encore: Rod Stewart Returns to Europe for One Last Tour

Rumors had been circulating for some time, and with the announcement of the Locarno show on July 22nd last week, it became clear that Rod Stewart had something up his sleeve for 2027. And now the cat's out of the bag: Sir Rod will return to Europe for 21 concerts in 2027. The tour kicks off in April/May with six shows in Dublin and the UK, then takes the 82-year-old through Belgium and Germany to Scandinavia, and then on to Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, and Croatia before returning to Germany for the final show in Hanover on July 24th.

"After much consideration, I can announce that next year will be my last year of touring ever," Rod revealed in a video statement posted on his social media channels. "I'm not retiring, but this will be my last rock 'n' roll tour." Then the singer addressed his fans: "I want to thank you for everything you've given me. And hopefully, I was able to give something back."

The short video concludes with a humorous, brief musical interlude.

Ticket presales for the European shows begin this coming Friday; tickets will be available in an exclusive presale starting tomorrow, Tuesday.

Rod also released a detailed statement regarding his – let's call it that – farewell tour in a press release: “My dear friends, the time has come for me to say goodbye to life on the road. After more than six decades, The Final Encore will most certainly be my last tour. Since the age of 19, I have been singing the music I love and have had the privilege of bringing it to you all around the world. This has given me a life that surpasses anything I could have ever imagined, and I hope I have given you some wonderful memories in return. Therefore, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for making this extraordinary life possible. I hope you will be there so that I can thank you in the best way I know… with music and an amazing show. See you there!”
