Sir Rod Stewart has been forced to cancel another concert. Just a few days after his performance in Niagara Falls was called off due to technical problems with his aeroplane’s landing gear (and postponed until March 2027), yesterday’s show at the Riverbend Music Centre was also cancelled.
As the promoter announced in a statement, Rod had to undergo a “minor medical procedure” that required immediate treatment. However, the concert is not to be cancelled altogether, but will be rescheduled for a later date. “A new date is currently being finalised,” the Riverbend Music Casino announced. Tickets already purchased will remain valid for the new date. “Rod will make a speedy recovery and is looking forward to returning to Cincinnati,” the statement concluded.
The latest cancellation has left fans with mixed feelings. On the one hand, there were some angry reactions and a great deal of disappointment at the event being cancelled at such short notice once again. On the other hand, most fans were concerned about the British singer’s health.
Kandace said: “My husband was there, waiting to get in. Then they announced that Rod couldn’t perform because of a medical emergency. I hope he’s all right.” Linda was already there too. “Everything was actually sorted – we were waiting at the entrance – then the cancellation was announced,” she reported. “Some people were angry and argued with the security staff. Others were just sad and worried about Rod.”
Like Michelle, who had also already arrived at the venue. “What a shame – I’d been so looking forward to the concert and to seeing Richard Marx. I hope it’s nothing serious; I’m praying for you, Rod.”
