Ibiza – When a rock legend and one of the world’s most successful DJs meet on the party island of Ibiza, it’s a moment that catches the attention of music fans. That’s exactly what has just happened: Rod Stewart bumped into superstar DJ Calvin Harris whilst on holiday.

81-year-old Rod Stewart is currently enjoying a relaxing summer on the Balearic island. Calvin Harris, on the other hand, is keeping the dancefloors packed this summer: with his residency at the legendary Ushuaïa Ibiza, the Scot is one of the island’s biggest crowd-pullers and regularly spins there on Tuesdays and Fridays.

The meeting between these two Brits could hardly be more different – and that’s precisely why it’s so special. On the one hand, there’s Rod Stewart, whose career has been making music history for more than five decades and who has thrilled generations with global hits such as ‘Sailing’, ‘Maggie May’ and ‘Da Ya Think I’m Sexy?’. On the other is Calvin Harris, who has shaped the international dance scene with chart hits such as ‘Summer’, ‘Feel So Close’ and ‘One Kiss’, thrilling millions of fans worldwide.

Ibiza is thus demonstrating once again why the island has been regarded for decades as a meeting place for the international music and celebrity scene. Amidst exclusive beach clubs, luxurious yachts and the world’s most famous open-air clubs, encounters continue to take place that attract attention far beyond the island.

The photo of Rod Stewart and Calvin Harris together bridges two eras of music history – rock and electronic music, tradition and modernity. An extraordinary snapshot of two global stars creating a special summer moment in Ibiza.

Although Calvin Harris and Rod Stewart represent different generations and genres musically, they are both united by a passion for catchy melodies and global chart hits. Their meeting in Ibiza brought together two British music legends, each of whose careers has shaped the lives of millions of people.
