This is unlikely to please Celtic's celebrity fan Sir Rod Stewart, and will certainly spoil at least this one day of his holiday. His beloved club was eliminated from the UEFA Champions League play-offs tonight. The Hoops lost 2-3 on penalties to underdogs Kairat Almaty in Kazakhstan. After 120 minutes, the score was 0-0, just like in the first leg in Glasgow last week. Last season, the Bhoys in green advanced to the round of 16 play-offs in Europe's premier club competition, but were then unlucky to be eliminated at the last second in the second leg at Bayern Munich. After being knocked out by Almaty, Brendan Rodgers' men will now have to compete in the Europa League.
