No, this finish was once again not for the faint-hearted, and even Celtic FC's royal fan Sir Rod Stewart must have been biting his nails in the final minutes of his team's away game in Kilmarnock. In the end, Mexican defender Julian Araujo secured a 3-2 victory for the Bhoys in Green (90+7) in literally the last second, allowing them to continue dreaming of their 56th championship.

At first, however, things did not go at all to the liking of Sir Rod and the Celtic fans. Killie striker Tyreece John-Jules surprisingly put the second-to-last team in the table ahead in the 21st minute. Celtic struggled against the underdogs and immediately conceded a second goal by Joe Hugill (28'). Many of the visiting fans saw their title chances slipping away at half-time, but Celtic came back after the break – and a probable dressing down from manager Martin O'Neill in the dressing room – looking like a completely different team. Substitute Sebastian Tounekti pulled the Hoops back to 1-2 in the 56th minute, and shortly afterwards Sweden's Benjamin Nygren made it 2-2 (64'). The game was now wide open again and Celtic, after a disastrous first half, now had the upper hand.
However, it took until the seventh minute of stoppage time for Araujo to score the much-celebrated winning goal. We bet Sir Rod was dancing around the house again at that moment!
What does this last-minute victory mean for the table? With Hearts losing to Rangers, the Hoops are now only three points behind the top of the table and have played one game less than their rivals. The title race in Scotland is really heating up after matchday 27, and the next few weeks are likely to be nerve-wracking for Sir Rod and all those who support the Bhoys in green.
