Sir Rod Stewart is still suffering from the flu, forcing him to make further changes to his tour schedule. As a result, the concerts on 7, 8 and 10 June in Las Vegas have all been cancelled, as has the performance announced for 14 June in Stateline. In addition, the shows on 12 June in Rancho Mirage and 15 June in Paso Robles have been postponed until September.
"I have to cancel and reschedule my next six concerts in June as I continue to recover from the flu. So sorry my friends. I'm devasted and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience to my fans", the 80-year-old wrote on his social media channels a few hours ago. Sir Rod's statement was released just as speculation began to arise as to whether the flu was really the true reason behind the music icon's concert cancellations. ‘I'll be back on stage and see you all soon,’ the singer reiterated in his brief statement on social media.

Just minutes after the official announcement of the concert cancellations, fans from around the world sent their get-well wishes and expressed understanding for the decision. ‘I wanted to be there in Stateline on 14 June,’ wrote one fan. "But it's okay, Sir Rod. Get well soon and feel better, then I'll hear you sing “Forever Young”.‘ ’I hope you feel better soon, Rod,‘ hoped another. ’It's a shame that the show in Paso Robles has been cancelled for now, but I'm looking forward to the replacement date in September.‘ ’We came to Las Vegas especially to see your show. We had tickets for tomorrow. We are very disappointed, but the most important thing is that you feel better soon so that you can continue to inspire us with your beautiful songs for a long time to come,‘ other fans showed understanding. Silke from Düren is also currently in Las Vegas and thinks it's a shame that the concerts are not taking place. ’What can you do? I'm sad that the shows have been cancelled. That's why I came here. But no one can change the fact that Rod has fallen ill. He himself would certainly prefer to be on stage,‘ Silke told STORYTELLER. ’I'm going to enjoy a few more days here and then fly back home as planned."
Thanks to the schedule changes, Sir Rod now has a good three weeks to recover completely. The Brit's next scheduled performance is on 29 June in the so-called Legends or Teatime slot at the traditional Glastonbury Festival in Somerset, England.
