Bitter news for all fans of pop and rock icon Billy Joel. The 76-year-old US singer announced yesterday that he has had to cancel all planned appearances on his US tour due to a brain disease.
This affects all of his shows in the USA this year, as well as the concerts in the UK and North America already planned for 2026. ‘Billy Joel has announced that he will be cancelling all planned concerts after being diagnosed with normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH),’ his management announced. The disease he has been diagnosed with has been exacerbated by recent performances, it added. Hearing, vision and balance problems had arisen, making a cancellation unavoidable.
Also affected by the cancellations are the Rod Stewart shows on 5 July in Pittsburgh, 18 July in Bronx/NY and 20 September in Cincinnati, where the joint performances will now not take place. Sir Rod will have to run the show alone.
STORYTELLER would like to take this opportunity to wish Billy Joel all the best and a speedy recovery.
