After the game is before the game, as they say in football. Or from our hero's point of view: After the concert and the film premiere is before the championship ceremony.
A few days after the last of his European concerts in Lisbon, Sir Rod Stewart was a guest at the last home game of his favourite club Celtic this Saturday.
However, the old and new Scottish champions showed little bite against FC St Mirren and could not get past 0-0 at the break. Even after the break, the game remained manageable, but none of the more than 60,000 spectators in the sold-out Celtic Park really resented the men of coach Brendan Rodgers. In the end, James Forrest rescued a 1-1 draw for Celtic in the fourth minute of stoppage time after Jonah Ayunga had put the underdogs ahead in the 51st minute.
After the last 90 minutes of the season, which were only of minor importance, came the championship ceremony: At 2.45 pm local time, Celtic captain Callum McGregor presented the trophy for the 2025 Scottish champions together with the entire team to the enthusiastic fans in the stadium. The celebrations then took their course. Sir Rod also celebrated the Bhoys in Green's 55th championship exuberantly in the stands.
On Thursday, the singer showed that he is enjoying himself during the current tour break. Together with his wife Penny, her brother Oliver, his son Aiden and his nephew Theo, Rod attended the premiere of the new Tom Cruise film ‘Mission Impossible - The Final Reckoning’ in London.
