After the game is before the game, as they say in football jargon. Or in our case: After the concert is before the concert. But what do you do in the time between two gigs? How do you spend your time?
Sir Rod Stewart decided to take a little stroll through the city in Krakow, Poland. The singer, who arrived yesterday morning from Gdansk in Poland's second largest city, where he is playing his concert tonight in the Tauron Arena, took a stroll through the streets yesterday afternoon.
On his tour of the city, he visited a shop selling hats and caps. Owner Maria Lipka, who has been running her iconic shop for over 60 years, didn't realise at first who had just walked into her shop. Her granddaughter Joanna recognised Sir Rod and asked him to take a photo with her.
And the singer didn't leave empty-handed. He bought himself a classic peaked cap and joked as he tried it on: ‘I have a big head, very few hats fit me’.
Thanks to the professional advice of shop owners Maria and Joanna, a suitable cap was found after all. ‘What he chose from us also goes very well with his lush spiky hairstyle,’ said Joanna.
Maria Lipka has been outfitting artists, politicians and scientists with her headgear for many years. ‘Anyone who appreciates elegance on their head will find what they are looking for here,’ says the 84-year-old with pride.
