Sad news for the Faces and their fans. Yesterday, on 4 December, former Faces bassist Tetsu Yamauchi passed away at the age of 79.
Tetsu, who according to Rod Stewart was ‘a nice Japanese guy’ who ‘barely spoke English,’ joined the Faces in August 1973, replacing Ronnie Lane on bass.
In a statement posted on social media, the three surviving Faces members, Rod Stewart, Ronnie Wood and Kenney Jones, said: "We’re really sad to hear about the passing of Tetsu. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those who knew and loved him. He will be missed by us all".
