It may be due to the pre-Christmas period and may have purely material reasons, in line with the motto: quickly release an album before people start their Christmas shopping and grab a nice slice of the pie.
But in the end, it is what it is, or rather what it was intended to be. The month of November is one of the most remarkable weeks of the year when it comes to Rod Stewart's album releases.
Not only was his 2021 album ‘The Tears Of Hercules’ released in November, but also the LPs ‘Footloose and Fancy Free’ (4th November 1977), ‘Blondes Have More Fun’ (24th November 1978), ‘Foolish Behaviour’ (21st November 1980) and ‘Tonight I'm Yours’ (6th November 1981) saw the light of day in the music world in what is often the greyest month of the year.

Above all, ‘Footloose and Fancy Free’ from 1977, featuring the big hits ‘Hot Legs’ and ‘You're In My Heart’, sold very well with more than four million copies.
On ‘Blondes Have More Fun’ from 1978, Sir Rod presented his disco hit ‘Da Ya Think I'm Sexy’ to the music world. ‘That's probably the most successful song I've ever produced and released,’ says Stewart today, after proclaiming a few years ago: ‘I don't want to sing DYTIS anymore when I'm 80.’ Now he is 80 and still doing it, and his fans love him for it.
Speaking of 80, this year saw the release of ‘Foolish Behaviour’, an album that did not include any of Sir Rod's big hits, but which is hugely popular among fans. For many ‘newcomers’ to the Rod Stewart circus in the 1980s, ‘Foolish Behaviour’ was the ‘gateway drug’ and will remain – in the opinion of the author of these lines – one of the most underrated Stewart albums in music history.
Then there is ‘Tonight I'm Yours’ from November 1981. This LP produced the two highlight songs ‘Tonight I'm Yours’ and ‘Young Turks’. As with ‘Foolish Behaviour’, it is one of the absolute favourites among fans, but did not go down so well with the critics.
