The die has been cast – the three winners of our Wolfie's competition have been decided. And the excitement among all participants is certainly huge. Looking back, we first need to gather our thoughts, because we received a veritable flood of emails – exactly 836 messages with the keyword ‘Wolfie's’ reached us in recent weeks, 756 of which also included the correct answer and thus made it into the big prize draw.
Handbags and Gladrags at the beginning
We asked you to name the order (from old to new) of ten Rod Stewart songs. These included some of the big hits that you hear on the radio all the time, but also songs that not everyone is familiar with. The overwhelming response and endless wave of emails were all the more impressive. The last one arrived at exactly 11:59 p.m. yesterday evening, right at the end of the entry period. I'm sure you're all eager to know if you answered correctly. So, the correct answer is:
Handbags and Gladrags (1969), Maggie May (1971), Mine For Me (1974), Young Turks (1981), Baby Jane (1983), Lost In You (1988), Way Back Home (2015), It Was A Very Good Year (2018), One More Time (2021) and Pennies From Heaven (2024).
To all participants, regardless of whether you found the correct answer or not, a big thank you, also on behalf of Wolfie's Whisky. Your flood of messages made the campaign a complete success. To be honest, we did not expect such an overwhelming response.
The draw took place today at 9 a.m.
We thought long and hard about how we wanted to conduct the draw and then decided to do it online. Given the large number of potential winners, this was the best solution. We put all the names of the participants with the correct answer into the big ‘pot’ and then, at nine o'clock sharp, we pressed the button that set the wheel of fortune in motion. With our not-so-professional equipment, we recorded the draw on video so that we can announce the lucky winners to you this way. They have already been notified by email and can look forward to receiving a signed bottle of Wolfie's Whisky. To everyone else who unfortunately came away empty-handed, we are already working on a new edition and will announce the exact details in due course.
