Ozzy Osbourne, singer of the legendary heavy metal band Black Sabbath, has died. Osbourne passed away on Tuesday at the age of 76, according to his family. Just two weeks ago, the singer, who suffered from Parkinson's disease, performed at a farewell concert in his hometown of Birmingham.
The news sparked a wave of sympathy, with numerous fans, friends and companions paying tribute to the ‘Godfather of Metal’ on social media.
Rod Stewart also wrote a short message: ‘Goodbye, Ozzy. Sleep well, my friend. See you up there – sooner rather than later. - Sir Rod Stewart’
In addition to Stewart, Elton John and Ronnie Wood also expressed their grief over the Black Sabbath singer on social media.
Elton wrote: "He was a dear friend and a great pioneer who secured his place in the pantheon of rock gods – a true legend. He was also one of the funniest people I have ever met. I will miss him dearly. I send my condolences and love to Sharon and the family."
And Rod's buddy Ronnie Wood posted on his channels: ‘I am so sad to hear of the death of Ozzy Osbourne... What a beautiful farewell concert he gave at “Back To The Beginning” in Birmingham.’
